E-safety

E-Safety in the Curriculum

At Peasedown St John Primary School, e-safety is embedded in every area of the curriculum. We want to make sure we utilise every learning opportunity by using technology, while ensuring we know how to act safely and responsibly, helping others to do so too. Through our exciting ICT topics such as ‘We are architects’ and ‘We are musicians’, pupils learn about the SMART rules and work in pairs to make safe decisions as they work. Safety tips are displayed around the school, including on the main screens, and are referred to through all subjects.

We celebrate Safer Internet Day and Stay Safe Week, challenging ourselves through discussions, scenario based role play and interactive tasks. We also make the most of our Library Digital Literacy sessions, bringing together our Humanity’s research skills and our SMART rules, to support topic based work.

Our aim is to support each other to grow into mature, responsible individuals, able to be resourceful when using technology, while keeping ourselves and others safe.
