Home-School Agreement

Parents supporting their children and taking an interest in their school work really helps children to succeed at school. At Peasedown St. John Primary School we do all we can to ensure that links between school and home are strong. All schools must have a Home-School Agreement but at Peasedown St. John we have extended this into a Parent, Teacher and Child agreement because with all of us working together we can get the best for each individual.

When your child joins our school we ask you to complete the following agreement:


Our Home School Agreement

The Parents/Guardians
I/We will:

• Support my child with homework and other opportunities for home-learning.
• Attend parents’ evenings and discussions about my child’s progress.
• Support the school’s policies and guidelines on behaviour.
• Make sure that my child goes to school in full school uniform, regularly, on time and properly equipped.
• Provide a note or message of explanation if he/she is absent.
• Make the school aware of any concerns or problems which might affect my child’s work or behaviour.

The School
Our school will:

• Care for your child’s safety and well being.
• Encourage your child to do his/her best at all times.
• Provide a balanced curriculum and meet the individual needs of your child.
• Keep you informed of your child’s progress at regular meetings.
• Keep you informed about school activities through regular newsletters.
• Let you know about any concerns or problems that affect your child’s work or behaviour.
